Doosan Portable Power Shows off Pink Machines for Breast Cancer Awareness Event

10/29/2014

During the week of September 27, the Doosan Portable Power team in Statesville, N.C., participated in a local breast cancer awareness event by displaying pink light towers in its front lawn, which is visible from two major interstate highways. This display was part of an effort by Susan G. Komen for the Cure and CREW Charlotte (Commercial Real Estate Women) to decorate the city of Charlotte and surrounding regions in pink. The event was called the Queen City in Pink and led into Charlotte’s Race for the Cure event on October 4.

More than 18,000 people participated in the Race for the Cure 5K run/walk to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screenings and treatment programs. The Doosan Portable Power team was honored to support this excellent cause.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer. Since its inception in 1982, the organization has invested more than $2.5 billion in breast cancer research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 30 countries.
